Timeline of Events
PARENT SURVEYS are the first step in preparing Gifted Student Service Plans (GSSP) which will be completed by Oct 1st.
Parents are able to provide important information about their child useful for teachers in planning instruction. We ask that surveys be completed for newly identified students, those in transitional grades 6 and 9. However, a parent may complete a survey at the beginning of any year. This is especially important if there have been changes in your home that may affect a child’s academic or behavioral performance at school.
GSSPs and surveys are managed within Infinite Campus. An email notification with directions for how to complete the survey will be sent to your email address on file at school. Please complete the parent survey in Infinite Campus once you receive email notification from district staff.
GETTING STARTED IN GATES Parents of 4th or 5th grade students who were identified as gifted last spring or who have not been to a similar session are invited to this orientation about GATES on Thurs., 9/13, 6:00-7:30 pm at Oldham County Schools Arts Center, 7105 Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY.
GIFTED STUDENT SERVICE PLANS (GSSPs) will be developed throughout the month. GATES Coordinators will be working with classroom teachers to complete Gifted Student Service Plans (GSSPs) for all identified GATES students. The GSSP is a communication tool to explain the various instructional strategies implemented during a school year to meet the educational needs of the student. You may expect to receive your copy of the GSSP in October before fall break. If you wish to decline GATES services for your child this year, download the “Decline of Services” document, complete and return to your GATES Coordinator.
