Dear OCS Community,
As we look at the current state of Covid-19 transmission in our community, there has been a substantial decrease in Oldham County's 7-day average since we returned to in-person instruction on January 19. We had previously announced our A/B schedule for middle and high would continue through spring break, and with these declining numbers, we feel it is time to transition from the A/B schedule to full-time instruction at all levels when we return from that break.
Therefore, beginning Monday April 12, we will do away with the A/B schedule and all middle and high students who have selected in-person instruction will attend school 5 days a week.
This plan has endorsement from the Oldham County Health Department and we will continue to follow Kentucky’s Healthy at School Guidelines, including temperature checks, masks, and social distancing to the best extent possible. With increased attendance, distancing and classroom configurations will fluctuate. We plan to utilize additional rooms and spaces during lunch to ensure 6 foot distancing of students. Seating charts and attendance rosters (buses, classrooms and mealtimes) will be maintained to assist with contact tracing if necessary.
For those who have selected VLA, that program will continue through the end of the school year.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s school.
In order to continue a successful school year, we ask that everyone adhere to best practices outside of school to continue to slow the spread of Covid-19. We again thank you for your support and flexibility.
