Summer Reading

Knowing that children who read over the summer can gain up to one month of reading proficiency, we are asking students to read at least 3 books of their choice this summer. Students should go to the Oldham County Public Library's link to submit a form to show they have read each book. Submitting three books will enter students for several prizes from the library!  While there are no required texts students must read, those looking for ideas might check out this link:  Summer Reading Ideas.   It lists both award-winning Newbery books, as well as some of Amazon’s top-ranking middle grade and teen books.

School supply kits for next school year are currently available for purchase.   You can go to the link below to place your order and your child's kit will be waiting for you on Dragon Day.   The kits are offered for purchase from the PTO and this is a service project.   There is no markup on these kits as a fundraiser.

Save your Coke caps, flaps and wraps!!!! SOMS PTO is now participating in the Coke Gives Rewards program. You can log in and enter your codes OR collect those caps, flaps, and wraps and send them in!!!! Collect at work - collect at home - collect at parties!!!! Every code counts!!!!

Students interested in being a part of the 2019/20 SOMS Yearbook Staff can complete an application.  Applications are due to Ms. Temple by June 30th via email at, mailed to the school, or dropped off during summer office hours (see above).  For an application, click on this link:   Yearbook Staff Application

Online registration for the 2019/20 school year is now OPEN via Infinite Campus.  To register online, login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account and select “ Online Registration."  For returning families, the online registration process will walk you through a series of steps to confirm the information about your student, parents or guardians, and emergency contacts. You will also have the opportunity to upload necessary documents, such as proof of residency.  At this time, there are things that cannot be done through Infinite Campus online registration, such as fee payment, yearbook ordering, and enrichment center enrollment. You will NOT have the ability to make after school care arrangements via the online registration application. Please contact your child's school if you need to enroll in after school care. We hope to have these things available in the coming years. So for now, there will still be a registration event that will take place at most schools over the summer.
The process is self-explanatory and you will be walked though each step, but if you have any questions during the process, please call your child’s school for assistance.  You can also save your progress and come back at a later time to complete the process.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child's school if you have any questions or concerns.  Information concerning OLR, including a detailed video, is available on the
OCBE District web page.

We currently have openings for Head Coach and Assistant Coach for the Tennis Team for the 2019-20 school year.   If you are interested, or know someone who is, please contact Christopher Rairick, Athletic Director.
