FCA News: FCA will meet every Wednesday at 8:05 in the GYM. 

Yearbook Distribution: They’re almost here!!!! Yearbooks will be distributed May 28 during a 7th period homeroom to those who have paid in full. Books will not be distributed early. If you are absent for homeroom, you may pick up your book after school on the 28th or beginning at 8:15 am on the 29th in room 219.  Books will not be distributed during class. Extra yearbooks will be sold in room 219 beginning at 8:15 on Friday, May 29.  There will be approximately 100 extra books to sell.  The cost of a book is $70.00.  Each person may purchase only one book. 

Summer School Information: If you are failing a class(es) please check the attached information regarding summer school attached. 

INTERESTED IN BEING A CLASS OFFICER NEXT YEAR?  Applications for class officers for next year’s sophomore, junior, and senior classes are now available.  See Ms. Jordan (206), Mrs. Williams (136), Mr. Cunningham (132), Mrs. Pavon (223), Ms. Feldkamp (213), Ms. Perkins (214), or Ms. Heineman (105) for an application.  Applications are due to the class sponsor by Wednesday, May 27.  Apply today!


Seniors:  Please complete the attached scholarship worksheet and return to Mrs. Jaggers in Guidance by May 29th.  This needs to be completed in order to keep a tally of all scholarships awarded to our SOHS Seniors. This list should include any scholarship that has been offered to you – even the ones you are not going to accept. The information that is shared on this form will be used to get a total number of scholarship dollars offered to the graduating class and will be announced at the commencement ceremony.  Individual totals will not be seen by anyone except Mrs. Jaggers.  The scholarships that are accepted by our graduates will be announced as they receive their diploma but dollar amounts will not be announced. 

Attention Beta Club Students: Crestwood Elementary needs volunteers for their Spring Picnic on Friday May 29 from 6:15 – 8:45. Please sign up on the Beta Club bulletin board. See Mrs. Carr if you have questions. 

School Medication Announcement: The end of the year is approaching quickly.  If your student has medication with the school nurse please read the attached flier on directions what to do to claim those.

Student Council: Food...Matchmaking...Homecoming... Interested in leading your school next year? Stop by room 112 and apply for next year's Student Council! We're a quick, efficient team that improves lives, participates in spirit and leadership, PLUS it all looks good on those college applications. Applications due to Mrs. Kruszynski by May 29th! 

Parking News:  All students who park on campus must have a parking permit, park only in a parking spot (not on the grass or concrete slab by band tower), and not in the visitor’s row.  The parking lot will be checked regularly, and if you are parked without a permit or in an area that is not designated for student parking you will be towed or booted.

ATTENTION SOHS STUDENTS AND PARENTS:  Remember to check the SOHS Guidance Web page @ http://sohsguidance.weebly.com/enrichment-opportunities.html to find a variety of Enrichment activities and Opportunities.  This page will be updated regularly so check in often.
Electronic Device Reminder: Please leave your Nintendo devices at home.  Using them at school causes the wireless network to fail. 

ESS schedule: Tuesday – English and Science; Wednesday – Math; Thursday – English, Math, and Social Studies.  Foreign language must be scheduled with the teacher. 

College Visit Policy: ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS & PARENTS:  If you are planning on using a college visit please remember that you need to submit a request in writing from a parent/guardian to the attendance office no later than a week prior to the first day of absence.   Juniors you are allowed 1 college visit and seniors you are allowed 2 college visits.   If you do not submit your request to the attendance office a week prior to the first day of absence you not be eligible to use your allocated College Visit days.  Also remember that College Visitation Policy follows the same as the OCBE Vacation Policy which may not be used before or after an extended break such as three-day weekends and holiday breaks.
