OCS Spotlight
Congratulations to the 21 Pyramid Award winners for 2012!
Jennifer Hull, Camden Station Elementary Music Teacher, recently won a Pyramid Grant from the Oldham County Educational Foundation. Her grant was a joint proposal with Goshen Elementary and will include students from both schools. The grant has allowed her to set up an after-school percussion group, called The Oldham Octopi. The Pyramid Award was presented to Ms. Hull by Chad McCormick, Board Member of the OCEF. For a complete list of this year's winners, please click on the link below.
WILL Power!
NOHS faculty and staff join together to support teacher Will Jones in his battle with cancer. The t-shirts, designed by senior Jenna Coleman, say “WILL Power” on the front. The horseshoe-shaped photo with Will Jones in the middle depicts the NOHS staff’s school spirit, commitment and support of one another.

SOHS Students Collect 283 Toys for Kosair Children's Hospital
Three South High students (Katie Dalton, Lilly Ball, and Amy Troxell) organized a toy drive for Kosair Children’s Hospital. Their goal was to collect 100 toys, but they ended up collecting 283 toys from the student body. They presented the toys to the hospital on December 10th.

SOHS Boys Basketball Program lends a helping hand to The Kids Center of Pediatrics Therapies
On Saturday, November 19, the SOHS boys basketball program donated their day to helping The Kids Center of Pediatrics Therapies. This organization has a fashion show for their clients as a fun day for them and a fund raiser. The clients get dressed up and our guys escort them during the fashion show. 40 basketball players attended.

SOHS Link Crew collects over 3000 holiday cards for the Red Cross
The Link Crew is our new program that pairs upperclassmen (Link Crew Leaders) with freshmen (Links) in order to help freshmen better transition to high school. The Link Crew Coordinators are Ashley Sandor and Hallie Hunt, teachers, and Sherry Fields, parent. The Link Crew Leaders collected and delivered over 3000 holiday cards to the Red Cross this past weekend.

OCHS Students selected for American Legion KY Boys and Girls State
The Oldham County Post 39 of The American Legion sponsored two Oldham County High Schools students to attend last summer's American Legion Kentucky Boys and Girls State. Students were selected based on their character, academic accomplishments and extracurricular activities. Congratulations to our newest National Board Certified Teachers
These 13 teachers join the ranks of 128 other distinguished educators in our county who have earned this certification. Oldham County continues to lead all other school districts in Kentucky in the percent of our teachers who are National Board Certified. Becoming National Board certified requires a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication. We congratulate these teachers for this significant accomplishment.
