• Attention Parents of Kindergarten Students for the 2012-13 School Year:  Kindergarten Konversations will be May 14, 2012 at 6:30 PM.  It is important that both you and your incoming Kindergarten student attend this event.  Kindergarten Take Flight will be August 10, 2012 from 8:30 - 11:00.  There will be more information on this event sent home this summer.

• Registration Packets for the 2012-2013 school year will be coming home in tomorrow’s Take Home Tuesday Folders. Forms will be due back by Friday, April 6^th. Please remember that we will need verification of up-to-date health insurance (a copy of your insurance card) and a current proof of residency (in the form of a gas, water or electric bill). Please contact our Office Manager, Charlene Jennings with any questions.

• Invite Someone You Love to Lunch Days: We would love to have you visit our book fair during the week of April 2nd! There are wonderful books for kids and adults, educational games, and great gift ideas.   In conjunction with our Book Fair, our cafeteria will be hosting “Invite Someone You Love to Lunch”. See the following list for when your child may invite a special person to eat and shop with them.

• Camden Station Elementary Student Art Show: A reminder to all students:  Don't forget to bring in your artwork for the Camden Station Eagles Art Show!  Enter an artwork that you are really proud of from this year in art class, or make something at home.  Don't forget to fill out an entry form for every artwork you bring in. These can be found outside of Mrs. Kahmann's door.  All entries are due to Mrs. Kahmann by April 16th.  This is your time to let your creativity shine!

• Save The Date! The 5^th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on May 16, 2012 at 6:00 PM.

• 5th Grade Reminder:  The 5th Graders will be going to Puzzles Fun Dome on Friday, April 6th.  Parents are welcome to join their child at Puzzles Fun Dome for a day of fun and games.  We do need one parent chaperone per class to go with the teachers on the bus over to Puzzles.  If you would like to assist the teachers, please contact Christy Michaud at kymichauds@gmail.com or 241-7457.  Also, Puzzles will have lunch available for families.  They offer a variety of sandwiches and pizza.  As soon as you arrive at Puzzles, please go order your lunch.  That way it is ready when your child's class eats lunch. 

• SBDM School Council Election: The Camden Station PTA will hold elections for one parent member of the Camden Station Elementary SBDM School Council on April 25, 2012 at the following times: 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

The deadline to submit a nominee must be received with all required information by April 2nd, 2012 by 12:00 p.m. Return completed form to the Camden Station PTA, attention Julie Pate, PTA Secretary marked SBDM Election. See the attached nomination form for more details.

• Parent Night for Current 5^th graders at South Oldham Middle School will take place on Tuesday, April 24^th  from 6:30 – 7:30  in the school gym.

• Eagle’s Nest Summer and Fall packets are ready! If you are interested in a summer program or after school care for this coming fall (and your student attends or will attend Camden Station this fall), please look to Eagle’s Nest! Our students will be Backpacking Around The World this summer! For more information please call Pat Maurer at 241-3411, or you may pick up a packet in the front office.

•Tennis Shoes for PE! We have had a lot of students forgetting to wear their tennis shoes to PE and Fitness Friday.  Remember your child must wear tennis shoes in order to participate safely in all of our activities!  Thank you for your support!  - Ms. Schomburg

• South Oldham Middle School cheer tryouts will be April 25, 26, and 27^th 3:45 to 5:30 PM. Anyone trying out must have a KHSAA sports physical and sports packet. Packets can be picked up in the office at SOMS or on the SOMS Athletic website.

• To celebrate National Nutrition Month, we’re holding a student essay contest:

What does ‘Get Your Plate in Shape’ mean to you?

We want to hear how students stay healthy and active with friends and family. This contest is open to all Oldham elementary students. Please turn all essays into the cafeteria by Friday, March 30^th. The School Nutrition department will be judging the essays and announcing the winner on Friday, April 6^th.

We’re looking for ways students incorporate healthy eating choices at home and school. We also want to know how you find fun ways to be active and healthy.  Also, why is it important to be healthy?

The winner of the essay contest will receive a FREE bicycle! See the attached flyer for more information.
